Often in life we tend to remember the negative things and we can be easily drawn to harmful behavior and gossip. It’s actually hard to stay positive and make everything we say and do in life an uplifting experience, even when we want to!
Interestingly though, when I ask someone how their health is, or if they’ve considered what would happen if they couldn’t pay their bills or what would happen if they passed away and left their family in debt with no helping hand or no will, an ostrich appears! Haha! We are so positive! I get the famous Aussie saying
“She’ll be right mate”.
In fact, I do this myself with some things! Why? When we know we should be thinking about these things, why do we stick our heads in the sand?
Psychologists say that the “ostrich problem”, which is ignoring information that can help us, arises because of the need to avoid negative feelings…

I could go on and on with these moments and I’m sure you could add a few yourselves. How about today we start pulling our heads out of the sand slowly and one by one start crossing off our “ostrich moments” and start overcoming them? Will it be hard? I dare say yes but we’ll feel so proud of ourselves when we start paying attention and achieving goals.
